The SciHashtag project aims to create a free open collection of Twitter hashtags about science communication in and out of the academic world, thus to facilitate engagement with academics and professionals on Twitter.
Meet the people behind the SciHashtag Project
Elena Milani aka @biomug
Founder and Project manager
“I’m a Ph.D. student in Science Communication and a member of the Science Communication Unit at the University of the West of England (UK). For my Ph.D., I’m investigating pro- and anti-vaccine images used for advocacy that are shared on Twitter.
My academic background is in Neurobiology and Science Communication, while my work experience has focused mainly on digital and visual communication. I worked as a web reputation analyst for an Italian Web Agency, and I participated in several science outreach events and scientific conferences, organising and moderating live tweeting”.
Veronica Drago aka @VeronicaBeast
“I’m a Digital Content Coordinator at an italian web agency and I design digital and social media science communication activities related to science, technology and society, at Observa – Science in Society. On my spare time, I manage to dedicate my energy to my greatest interest – music – working as Editor and Communication Specialist at Rockon.it website.
I completed a Bachelor in Communication Studies, a Master in Media Studies & Journalism and a post-graduate Master in Science Communication. Now I’m eager to put my experience and my acquired skills to good use in improving sciences and culture outreach.”
